Cup Comp Part II

The Vardre Deganwy ‘B’ Team in the Clwydian League before last night’s Competition Match

Our ‘B’ Team players had an exciting match versus Grove Park ‘B’ yesterday at Rhyl Seabank bowling green. It was nip and tuck the whole way with our team coming out the victors (6-wins to 4) by just 5-points overall. Well played everyone.

Cup Comp

Good luck to our Clwydian ‘B’ Team as they play in the Division C Cup Competition today in Rhyl versus Grove Park ‘B’. The ‘A’ Team has a Bye in the Division A Competition due to the withdrawal of Dyserth ‘A’. Meanwhile, some members of our Club will host another match in the Cup Competition i.e. the Division D game between Rhos-on-Sea ‘C’ and Rhos-on-Sea ‘D’.

Hockey Hockey Hockey – Oi Oi Oi

Wales plays host to the Euros Under-18 Championship II Hockey for Girls and Boys from 9th-15th July 2023 at Swansea. Alex Starling, an U18 Team member of the local club – Clwb Hoci Eirias Hockey Club – has been named as a member of Boys U18 Wales squad for the event. Congratulations to him and the club. Newsy News Bits

  • Friday 30th June volunteers are needed to help host a Clwydian Cup Competition match. Our ‘A’ and ‘B’ Team players will be at other clubs playing their matches so we need other Members to help out at Vardre. DaveH has circulated an email to all members and the list is up in the clubhouse so please append your name.
  • Alpha Trophy, Hornby Cup and the Ladder competition matches need to be played asap please.
  • Sunday 30th July it’s “Charity Day” at Vardre Deganwy with all proceeds to a project at Deganwy Primary School. The day was our previous Chairman’s last request to us.
  • Sunday 25th June was the WCGBA Men’s Merits Finals, held at Rhos-on-Sea Bowling Club. Attended by approx. 150-people, the winner of the trophy was Joe Pritchard from Llanrwst Bowling Club.
  • Ladies versus Gentlemen at Vardre Deganwy on 25th June was a 4:2 victory to the gentlemen.
