No, the Club has not invested in bouncers to keep the place protected. It’s Sylvia and Elaine who are monitoring the thoroughfare to ensure that everyone can get through to the excellent refreshments in the Clubhouse.

Up, Up and Away

It was a very exciting end to the season last night. Our Team – 2nd place in the Division – needed 4-points from the match, against the 3rd place team, to guarantee 2nd place and promotion into the Division above in 2024. After the first four matches, the score was 2:2. But as the evening progressed, there were more wins for our Team, resulting in an 8:4 victory. Well done everyone. What a season!

The Winner

The Alan Jones Memorial Cup Competition was held on our green yesterday. Family members of Alan Jones were there to watch the 32 Entrants compete for the impressive Cup. Starting at 9am and finishing at 7pm, the ultimate winner was Gary Roberts who beat John Bailey. After he was presented with the Cup, Gary gave a much appreciated and heartfelt speech. Congratulations to Gary, the very well deserved Winner, and to John, the Runner-Up, and to DT Evans, the Referee who kept a careful eye on play throughout the day. Congratulations too for the Organisers and all the Competitors for a very entertaining day.

Alan Jones Memorial Match Today

From 9:00am onwards today, the “Alan Jones Memorial Match” will be hosted at the Vardre Deganwy bowling green. The Competition will be on ALL DAY so come along to help or simply spectate.

In The Groove

Although in yesterday’s post it looked like it wouldn’t happen, Mary did get everyone together for a game of musical chairs. She raises her hand to start the next round. Tension is high as Geoff prepares to remove the next chair.
