Get the Point

Yesterday all three of our Clwydian teams had a very good day. Our ‘A’ Team had a victory to write home about against the 2nd placed team in the league. It was a close win with 5-games each plus the team won the agg by just a single point. This just avoided a potential 5th draw of the season (surely, even the 4-draws the team already has, is a record in a season?).

Our ‘B’ Team excelled themselves with another resounding victory, this time away from home, keeping them firmly at the top of their Division with a healthy bunch of points more than the 2nd placed team.

Our ‘C’ Team also had 5-wins but both the team and the opposing team won the same amount of points, so the agg was divided between the two teams resulting in a draw.

Keeping Wales Tidy

The charity Keep Wales Tidy vision is dedicated to a beautiful Wales cared for and enjoyed by everyone. Surprise Surprise

On Saturday our North Wales Coast ‘A’ Team won a hard fought match against the top team in the Division. It looked unlikely early on but by the end of the day every member of the team had played their part in the 7:5 victory as, with 5-game wins under the belt, the points earned by all 10-members of the team, meant the additional Aggregate 2-points were also assured.

P.S. Our ‘B’ Team was playing in Beaumaris on the same day. Hopefully everyone managed to visit our very own Shan Eccles’ Art Exhibition in the Canolfan Beaumaris Leisure Centre. It’s on until September 2023.

Sporting Chance

Last night heralded the Opening Ceremony of the 2023 Island Games that is being held in Guernsey 8th-14th July. Amongst the 24-Islands taking part is Wales’ very own Ynys Mon/Anglesey. The participants will be competing in 14-sports and, although it doesn’t include the very important outdoor game of Crown Green Bowls, it does include Indoor Bowling. Click Here for the website.

Hot, Hot, Hot

Three of our Teams are currently top of their divisions across three different leagues: our Clwydian ‘B’ Team tops Division ‘C’; our Clwydian Ladies Team tops Division ‘B’; and, our Clwyd Team tops Division ‘D’.

Both the Clwydian Ladies Team and the Clwyd Team are new entries to their respective leagues this year so include a range of players whose skills vary across the spectrum from relative beginners to experienced players. Keep it going everyone as we’re now in the 2nd half of the season.
