Message from Ian: “Through an uneven number of Clubs in a division, or a late withdrawal by a Club from the initial fixtures, our B team is subject to a BYE on both Tuesday and Wednesday this week. Quite a rare occurrence, but members of our B team are fantastic supporters of our other sides, so we may well see them present at other venues during the next 3-4 days.
Also, if not already selected, the Ladies have a home fixture on Monday afternoon, and they can always sign up for the Doubles friendly on Thursday this week, away at the Craig y Don green. All details on the Club notice-boards.”

This lovely looking green turned into something akin to an ice rink yesterday for the ‘A’ Team’s match. Oooops, there’s another jack in the ditch.

Ian finds the advertising posters around the green are really helpful when he suddenly realises he needs ring in his order for some maintenance supplies.
In June, the Club agreed to adopt the Bowls Development Alliance’s policy “General Code of Conduct in Bowls”. Click Here to see the policy in full. It will also be on the noticeboard in the Clubhouse, plus there is a Link on our Safeguarding page.
Earlier this week, a member of one of our league teams was on the receiving end of some bad behaviour from a bowler of another Club in the local area. It was an unpleasant experience. So, all the time we continue to ensure we uphold our high standards of respectful behaviour towards others, hopefully it will help to engender the same spirit in others.

The Club has again entered the annual Wales in Bloom Competition, so additional work has taken place to help prepare the green and grounds for assessment today.
Many Members of the Club give their practical support all year round to Tommy – who works his socks off – to keep the Club grounds looking colourful and well maintained, together with Ian and Dave L who keep the Green in tip-top-perfect-crown-green-bowling condition. They all take care of the Club grounds, not only for Members but also for all the local community. Thank you from all the Club Members to everyone who helps care for the Club throughout the year.

World Chocolate Day takes place each year on 7th July. It marks the supposed anniversary of the date that it was introduced into Europe in 1550. Please find the way that is right for you to celebrate this iconic anniversary. (Source http://www.natiohttp://www.nationaltoday.comnaltoday.com)
