Ian Scores

Ian models a bowls scoreboard. Where’s ours? Remember the very first “Rules of the Game” on our website last September? Here’s a reminder of that Rule 3.4: The result of the end shall be clearly indicated, by the winner, to the two markers, except at competitions at which an official marker for each game has been appointed, and official scoreboards are in use. Where there are two markers they must sit together and agree each other’s score cards every third end and at the end of the game. Where the score cannot be agreed, by the markers or players, it shall revert to the end where both score cards show the score to be in agreement.

Cushion the Blow
Guys versus Gals
It was honours even at the end of the competition with a 4:4 Draw. However, taking the aggregate totals into consideration, the guys just took the Shield by only 10-points. Well played everyone. Next year ………

We were also in great crown green bowling company as Callum Wraight, the Shropshire bowler who won the BCGBA 2022 Senior Individual Merit Title, was one of the day’s competitors. Yes – he did get through to the finals.

A Slice of the Best Beats the Rest
6-Entries for the Great Bowling Bake Off yesterday meant a lot of eating for the Judges. Once the Judges could be prised away from gorging on cake, focus turned to the Spider Competition (won by Keith) followed by the round-robin bowling contest (won by Sean and Clarice).
