Captain Tommy R received the winner’s Shield from the League President, Roy Mills, on Sunday on behalf of the Vardre Deganwy ‘A’ Team. Some members of the club were also there to watch the Merits final rounds and to give support. Thanks to you all.

God Save the King
This event will be held today at 2:00pm at Mochdre BC with successful bowlers from all four divisions, from last week’s qualifying rounds at Vardre and Min y Don greens, competing in the final rounds. Both our ‘A’ and ‘B’ Teams enjoyed the season of competition. Tommy R, as Captain of the Vardre Deganwy ‘A’ Team, will collect the Division ‘B’ Winners award on behalf of the ‘A’ Team. Well done Tommy R and Team. Well done too to David J in the ‘A’ Team, and Linda in the ‘B’ Team, for topping their respective teams at the end of the season. Thanks to Captain Tommy R and Captain Marina (and Deputy Captain Clarice) from the ‘A’ and ‘B’ Teams for their guidance and support.

Yesterday the North Wales Coast League President’s Day was held at Conwy. Congratulations to Ian and to Stephen B for topping their Team at the end of the season. Thanks too from both our ‘A’ & ‘B’ Teams to Captain Ian and Elaine for guiding, encouraging and supporting everyone throughout the season.
Last Saturday was the qualifying day at Old Colwyn (and another at Vardre Deganwy) for today’s event that is being held at Conwy Bowling Club from 2:00pm. No qualifiers from Vardre but Steve did his best last Saturday to nobble the opposition on the green:

Click Here to view Ian’s report on the President’s Day qualifying events for the two-leagues – North Wales Coast and Colwyn and Llandudno – held over last weekend. Vardre Deganwy hosted 2 of the 4 events – one on Saturday and one on Sunday.
The Monday morning coaching sessions were very well attended this year with everyone making excellent progress week-on-week. Congratulations to everyone and welcome to the many who joined the Club so that they can continue to build on their progress and get full enjoyment from crown green bowling. Another day of competition yesterday with matches held for the Colwyn and Llandudno League at Vardre Deganwy bowling green and Min y Don bowling green. Our ‘A’ team rep, Diane, and our ‘B’ Team rep, Elaine, played in the rain but luckily it was not a heavier downpour (until later). Many thanks to the supporters who turned up to encourage the players.
The President’s Day for the League will be held on Sunday 18th September 2022 at Mochdre bowling club, i.e. the Club of the current President. The final rounds of the above competition will be held with prize-giving for the competition and for all four of the Divisions in the League. The event will start at 2:00pm (presumably).
Bill, our ‘A’ team rep, and Steve, our ‘B’ Team rep, in yesterday’s North Wales Coast Merits Competition. It was a long day but many congratulations to both, and especially to Steve who won his way through to a second game. The Final rounds will be held on President’s Day at Conwy bowling club on the 17th September 2022.
