Not quite the same ring as the sort of similarly named Elton John/Bernie Taupin song. However, Captain Ian (‘A’ Team) reminisces about his best laid plans for 2023 (Click Here).

Up, Up and Away

It was a very exciting end to the season last night. Our Team – 2nd place in the Division – needed 4-points from the match, against the 3rd place team, to guarantee 2nd place and promotion into the Division above in 2024. After the first four matches, the score was 2:2. But as the evening progressed, there were more wins for our Team, resulting in an 8:4 victory. Well done everyone. What a season!

The Winner
The Alan Jones Memorial Cup Competition was held on our green yesterday. Family members of Alan Jones were there to watch the 32 Entrants compete for the impressive Cup. Starting at 9am and finishing at 7pm, the ultimate winner was Gary Roberts who beat John Bailey. After he was presented with the Cup, Gary gave a much appreciated and heartfelt speech. Congratulations to Gary, the very well deserved Winner, and to John, the Runner-Up, and to DT Evans, the Referee who kept a careful eye on play throughout the day. Congratulations too for the Organisers and all the Competitors for a very entertaining day.

A few more photos from the event will be on the website later in the week so please keep checking back.
