Keepy-Uppy (or Keepie Uppie) is a popular game usually performed with a football. You start it off by putting your foot on the ball then quickly pull it towards you whilst putting your shoe underneath it in order to lift it off the ground. You then try to keep it in the air by bouncing it off any part of your body, except your hand or arm, as many times as you can without the ball hitting the ground.

Clwyd-IAN
Top One
The last league merits competition of the season takes place today with the Clwydian League President’s Day at Min-y-Don green – 11:00am Start. Our very own Ian Wilson – top of our ‘A’ Team who finished 8th this season out of the 178 players in Division ‘A’ – won his way through last Friday to play in the final rounds today. If you get the chance, do get along to give him your support.

Flinging in the Rain
The Clwydian Merit Qualifying events always attract heavy rain and this year was no exception. However, whilst our ‘C’ Team players JohnP & Gay at Denbigh had rain all day long, at Bryn Newydd near Prestatyn, our ‘A’ Team players Shan & Ian had to put up with sudden but extremely heavy showers. Our ‘B’ Team players, TomC and GaryB, who both got through to the second round, were at Rhyl. Ian did the Club proud by winning all his games so qualifying for the Final rounds on Monday at Min Y Don.

Final Comp Romp
The Closing Fours Competition took place yesterday – the final home competition of 2023 – with pairs competing for the prestigious trophy. The Final was played between Bob & SteveR and Rog & JohnF. It was a hard fought game with Bob & SteveR the victors. Congratulations to all the players, the finalists and the winners. Some more photos to appear in a few days.
Closing Fours
The Closing Fours Competition takes place today. Please turn up at the green by 1:00pm if you intend to play. Hopefully the weather will be kind and it will also give you some good practice on the green if you still have ladder matches to play.
Congratulations to the two Opening Fours pairs, due to play their Final today, which has been declared a draw due to previous commitments that prevented all the participants from playing. Clare & Shan versus Chris & Diane – perhaps each one will take home the trophy for 3-months each?
