Deganwy Castle
Have you ever tried to imagine, when looking at what’s left of the ruins of Deganwy Castle on the Vardre, what the original castle looked like. Well Click Here to go to YouTube to see a Dextra Visual bird’s eye view reconstruction of the whole castle as it might have looked in the mid-thirteenth century. Fascinating.

Conwy Honey Fair 2024
A date for your diary could be 13th September to visit the Conwy Honey Fair. between 9:00am and 4:00pm. Not only is it thought to be one of Britain’s oldest food festivals, dating back over 700-years, but it is also in a Royal Charter of Edward I that it must be held on that date every year. That is, unless the 13th occurs on a Sunday, then it must be held on the following Monday.
78% of the Season
With 78% of the Ladies League ‘A’ Division matches now behind us, our Club’s Ladies Team is now 7-points clear at the top of the league, having defeated the second place team yesterday by 8:2 points. The team’s win also resulted in their opponents dropping down into third place in the Division.
(There would have been a team photo here but it has been too hard to tie everyone down long enough between downpours to capture a photo. Maybe next time Captain, and if it’s sunny with a lovely blue sky!)
Bird Talk
Firstly, a word from David L our Treasurer: “Good news that our Club Fundraiser last week, together with additional donations, raised a total of £708.50. Well done to those who worked so hard on the day and many thanks to everyone who contributed or donated.”

Secondly, a word (usually many, many, many more than just “a” word) from Dave H our Secretary: “Just a quick reminder that the next Friendly match is this Thursday 11th July at Eirias Park. If you can play, please arrive around 1:30pm for a 2:00pm start (no charge). Thanks.”
Well Matched

Our club hosted the Ladies Friendly match versus Rhos-on-Sea yesterday afternoon. Unusually for a Ladies Friendly match, the sun shone all afternoon. Luckily there were no casualties suffering from heat stroke. The match was very close with just a 1-point difference between the two teams on the aggregate. Well played everyone.
A Millinery Display
You will have to travel a long way to see an equivalent display of millinery as put on by a few members of our Clwydian ‘B’ Team. A couple of hats are also enhanced by adding a pair of sunglasses. OK, perhaps not all are wearing hats, but you note that they are all cordoned off by safety tape to prevent others from getting access to the precious millinery.
