Our Knit and Natter Group is preparing for the Art and Exhibition Day tomorrow at the Clubhouse between 10:00am and 4:00pm. Hopefully you can get along to see what they’ve been up to (within reason, of course!).
Major Event
The major event in North Wales this weekend is:-
Art and Craft Exhibition at the Vardre Deganwy Bowling Club on Sunday 18th August from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Put on by our Friday Morning Group. It includes their work plus individual works of art by Shan Eccles.
All visitors welcome.
News Just in From the Committee
Newsletter time is upon us and thanks again to Dave for the time he spends putting this together for us all. Click here to see Newsletter 67.
And remember that this afternoon is a Friendly Match versus Llandudno (the Oval). Arrive by 1:30pm if you’d like to play for a 2:00pm start. Enjoy.
Looking Ahead
On Thursday 19th September (reserve date of 22nd September if weather is inclement), Ian is organising another Fun Day event with 4-different types of bowling games.
However, in advance of the event, 4-teams of 8-players each are needed to be formed as three of the games will be opposing another team. There is a poster on display in the Clubhouse so please add your name to the list as soon as possible. As with all of Ian’s events, it will be an enjoyable day.
Everything Adds Up
Thank you to all the participants and other visitors to our club on Sunday when we hosted the Alan Jones Memorial Cup for the third year running. It was great to watch all the bowls matches, with Gareth W Hughes, Craig y Don, the eventual winner. Congratulations to all the participants.
Members provided refreshments throughout the day and the income from sales from this event and from the Colwyn Bowls Festival the previous week, together with the football cards and donations, was over £700.00. A great boost for the club and all due to the club members who worked hard at the events.
A Word to the Wise
Walk & Ride
Roger and Margaret Dickinson, both former President’s of our Club, headed down to the green yesterday to watch our ‘B’ Team in its North Wales Coast League match. The team had a good win with 7:5 points, so Margaret and Roger might find themselves as the permanent team mascots. (Photo courtesy of Elaine Beech).
Festival Review
Between greenkeeping, event planning, mowing, captaining, hosting, measuring, Ian has also found time on his hands to write a review of our Club’s involvement in the recent Colwyn Bowls Festival. Click Here for his report.
