Green Health

“This week’s wet weather has delayed our Autumn work. The delivery of a ton of top dressing has been put back a week as the green has been too wet to vericut and scarify.’

“We are awaiting a drier couple of days to allow for the vericut to be less damaging to the surface – hopefully Friday – and then top dressing and fertiliser applied early next week. Our work is very weather dependent.” Ian

Green Closes Until 2022 Season

The Escape Tunnel is discovered

The party’s over! The green closed at 5:00pm today but it will reopen again in 2022. However, the website will continue on, unaffected by the weather (unlike the green maintenance).

We are all grateful to our volunteer greenkeepers for tending to the green’s needs all year round. I’m sure the rumour that they will be turning it into an ice rink during the winter is nothing but a rumour.

Remember that from January 2022, the Membership Year will run from 1st January to 31st December so put a reminder in your diary to pay the fee in January. The picture (above) is just a reminder of what you will be missing over the next few months and yet it is also something to look forward to in 2022.
