Today – 16th November 2021 – is the International Day of Tolerance
The United Nations introduced this Day in 1995 and, in their ‘Declaration of Principles on Tolerance’, stated their Resolve “to take all positive measures necessary to promote tolerance in our societies, because tolerance is not only a cherished principle, but also a necessity for peace and for the economic and social advancement of all people.”
“Tolerance is necessary between individuals and at the family and community levels. Tolerance promotion and the shaping of attitudes of openness, mutual listening and solidarity should take place in schools and universities and through non-formal education, at home and in the workplace.”

Remembrance Sunday Services today locally:
- Colwyn Bay: Sunday – 10.40am parade leaves Lansdowne Road car park, 10.50am Service & laying of wreaths at Queens Garden, then parade to St Paul’s Church for service.
- Conwy: Sunday – 10.40am parade from Bodlondeb to Cenotaph, service at Cenotaph starts at 10.55am, the parade will then move to St Mary’s Church for a service at 11.15am.
- Glan Conwy: Sunday – 10.30am service in the chapel before a parade to cenotaph.

- Old Colwyn: Sunday – service at St Catherine’s Church at 10am then laying of wreaths and service at war memorial at 11am.
