Cut Off at the End of the Year
A Taste of the Future?
Cambridge introduced Dutch-style roundabouts, Copenhagen Crossings and Cyclops junctions in recent years. Maybe traffic control systems like that will end up here one day! Click Here to find out why they have them in Cambridge.
Flight Grounded
It’s nearly time for the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch 2025. You can sign up now to participate for just one-hour between 24th-26th January. By signing-up you can obtain a guide to help you identify the birds. Help the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds to build a picture of how our garden birds are faring.
How Many?
If you tracked Santa’s progress around the world with us on Christmas Eve, using the NORAD tracker system, then you may be interested to know a couple of facts from his journey:
- he included a visit to the International Space Station when above the Southern Hemisphere;
- he delivered to Wales at around 11:40pm our time;
- by the time he had visited Wales, he had already delivered over 4.5 billion gifts;
- by the end of Christmas Eve (International Dateline) he had delivered over 8.18 billion gifts.
Tying Up Loose Ends
If you’re at a loose end today, pop along to Venue Cymru from 10:30am to see the Toy & Train Fair (secondhand and new items) or, on at the same time, visit The Friends of Venue Cymru Happy Faces Children’s Charity Table Top Antique & Collectors Fair (separate entrance fees apply for the two events).
Now You Sea It
Remember that today the Lions Club of Llandudno host an annual event: the Llandudno Lions Dip. A dip in the sea on Boxing Day. There are prizes for the best fancy dress costume plus a Grand Prize Raffle Draw. See you all there? 🤩
🎅🕊Happy Christmas to All🕊🎅
🎅Santa Is On His Way🎅
It’s time to track Santa on his annual single-day journey around the world. Click Here to travel to the NORAD website where you can see ‘live’ where in the world he is now. What’s NORAD, you ask? It’s the North American Aerospace Defence Command, an American/Canadian bi-national body watching the skies and beyond every day of the year. It has tracked Santa on his single-day trip around the globe over six decades.
Experiencing Wind? Use It!
With the easing at 21:00 hours last night of the latest Met Office Yellow weather warning for Wales (high winds), you might want to consider becoming a Weather Watcher for the BBC. Sign up on the BBC website to share your weather reports and/or photos.
Reminder: We’re Tracking Santa around the World from 9:00am tomorrow.
