Opening Fours Still Open

The Opening Fours Competition held on Sunday 6th April had 10 pairs competing for the first trophy of the season. By the time the preliminary rounds and the semi-finals had been held, it was too late to hold the final. So, the Final will be played later in the season between Mark & Karen and Elaine & Ann.

Measure For Measure

On Wednesday 9th April at 2:00pm at Grove Park Bowling Club (Rhyl), Arthur Peake, a qualified WCGBA Referee, will hold a training session in measuring, using tapes and calipers. This event is for ladies only so, if you’d like to participate, just turn up on the day.

Captain Carol Barrington hopes to arrange the same event at Vardre Deganwy Green in the near future (please Arthur🙏).

Appeal to Members

A message from the Maintenance Team:

Dodgy knees and backs! Do you have a “Black & Decker Workmate”, or similar small workbench, tucked away in your garage or shed that you no longer use?

If so, would you kindly consider donating it to the Vardre Deganwy Bowling Club? Working at ground level is getting increasingly difficult. Such a bench would be a great asset and would be used for a multitude of tasks. Many thanks. David Leech

Team Captains Please Note

Team photographs are now being taken. Will Team Captains’ please contact Diane to let her know when you are having a team practice, and also ask your team members to wear their team shirts for the photograph. If any team members are absent then they will have to be photographed at another time and added on to the side of the main photo. Once league matches commence, it will be less convenient to take the photographs. Let’s fill those walls in the Clubhouse. Thank you.

Green in Use This Afternoon

Please note that our Clwydian ‘B’ & ‘C’ Teams will be practising on the green this afternoon. Only a week now until the start of the Clwydian League season.

Green Use This Afternoon

At 2:00pm this afternoon our Vale of Clwyd Thursday team will be using the green for practice as the team’s first game is this coming Thursday. These recent uses of the green are just occasional one-off arrangements in preparation for the competitive league season matches ahead.
