Philosophy
Bertrand Russell was a philosopher, logician and social critic in the 20th Century. Here are just a few of his quotes:
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things.
Why repeat the old errors, if there are so many new errors to commit?
One must care about a world one will not see.
Education is not to be viewed as something like filling a vessel with water but, rather, assisting a flower to grow in its own way.
There is much pleasure to be gained from useless knowledge.

You might all remember our racey green, fast as lightning during the hot, dry spring and summer months. Now our volunteers and Bobby have started work on the green to improve it. It will look worse during the reinvigorating work on the green, so don’t worry. Our green is in very experienced hands (all of them with green fingers). HUGE THANKS TO OUR VOLUNTEERS ON MONDAY, especially from Bobby.

Clwydian President’s Day
Today is the Clwydian President’s Day with three of our bowlers playing in the merits semi-finals, to be held from 10:30am onwards at Old Colwyn. Each of the four Divisions will have its own Semi-Finals and Final. Our three representatives – Mark Ball, Vince Toms and John Probyn – will play in the ‘A’ Division (Mark & Vince) and the ‘C’ Division (John P) matches.
In addition, prize-giving by the league President at the end of the event, will involve Team Captain Shan Eccles who will be presented with the Clwydian Cup Competition ‘A’ Division Trophy, receiving it on behalf of the Vardre Deganwy ‘A’ Team that won this season-long competition last month. If team members are available tomorrow then please be there so that we can take a photograph of the team with the trophy. Perhaps there will also be a prize to receive for the ‘A’ Team ending the season in the Runners-Up place in the ‘A’ Division?
Also, Captain Carol Barrington of our ‘B’ Team will be picking up the ‘B’ Division Cup Competition prize for the Runners-Up Team in the competition.
