Today is the day when darts and dominos come together in the same place for the first time. Space and noise might be an issue so we shall see how many survive the event. Have fun everyone. 2:00pm & £1.00 each.

Esther discovers that they are all out basking in the afternoon sunshine
Everyone worked hard in hosting the President’s Day event for the North Wales Coast League and they all enjoyed a bit of a break from food preparation and service during the afternoon. Well done all.
There are a number of different games to play using dominoes: The Block Game; The Draw Game; Fives-and-Threes; The Star; or, Bergen, plus others including a few solitaire games. The new domino-afternoon will join the darts afternoon next Tuesday at 2:00pm.
Shan listens intently to the spoon tune played on the tray by Dave H but it’s hard to tell what the noise might be
A little side-line at the Walled Towns Competition at Vardre Deganwy was Dave H trying to entertain the competitors by playing-the-spoons (see photo above). Unfortunately, he tried this using only a single teaspoon so, as demonstrated by Shan, it was very hard to hear what he was playing. Some say it was the “Triumphal March” “from Verdi’s opera “Aida“. Only Shan knows the answer to this one!
Yesterday was the first meeting of our new darts group. Sue S had got everything organised – dartboard, blackboard, chalk, darts, plus a lino ‘mat’ for the oche measured out by John P for ladies and gents.
It is probably accurate to say that it had been a few years since members last threw any arrows at a dartboard. The surrounding blackboard suffered a bit at the beginning until people got the feel of it. So, with the very first competition round won by yours truly, the 2nd round was won by a keen-eyed Clarice. And Pat got an arrow in the bullseye! Well done all. Just a few more hours practice and the world will be our oyster 🦪! 2:00pm on Tuesday afternoons. Just £1.
From little acorns mighty oaks do grow (here’s hoping anyway)
Our next big diary date is the Annual General Meeting on 26th November 2024, to be held at the Craig y Don Community Centre 2:00pm.
The next diary date after that is Friday 13th December for the Club’s Christmas Lunch. Remember to pay the Club in advance and let Dave H know your menu choice as soon as possible.
Oh oh, looks like someone has just broken the news to Eddie about the upcoming dates
