Whilst Paul demonstrates his fitness bench workout, Bill practices his Morris dancing steps. Two great ways to keep fit out of season.
Remember that today is the day to sign-up to play on Craig-y-Don bowling green for the Winter Season. Be at their pavilion today (2nd October 2021) between 2:00pm and 4:00pm to pay for the season at £30.00 per person.
After an exciting and very close point scoring competition, just 133 to 122 points, the boys won the Competition on the last day of September by just 4:3 in games (score updated 6/10/21. The previous score included 2-points for the Aggregate but this does not apply in Fun Days and Friendlies). The rain showers did not dampen resolve or competitive spirits, and the Girls vociferously encouraged their team mates throughout the event. Quite a few of the girls, who were new bowlers this year, had never played in the rain before.
The trophy, that was first presented in 2005, was given to Rog S, the Captain of the Boys Team. The competition was last played in 2016 but, with the huge success of the 2021 event, it looks like it will become a regular annual fixture. Well played everyone.
Despite the rain, the competition yesterday was hotly contested. A great way to draw September to a close.
Be at the green by 1:30 today (Thursday 30th September 2021) if you want to take part in the Girls versus Boys Competition. This time folks, let’s remember, no gouging or biting on the green during a game!
Message from Dave H: Weather permitting we will be holding another friendly competition this Thursday (30th September 2021). We will have a Girls versus Boys Challenge. Slight change of plan so that we can finish before dark. Arrive around 1:30pm and disclose which side you are on.
Just a little fun poster to while away the time. Sorry boys, couldn’t resist it. CLICK HERE
