U3A On Strike
Yes, hot off the press, at the U3A’s practice on the Vardre Deganwy green yesterday, members were shown the joys of ‘striking’ with a bowl. Giggles of glee and success plus groans of frustration as each person tried to hit, at speed, a bowl sitting on the jack.
Getting in Your Lane

Yesterday’s competitions started with Fingers & Thumbs, playing in 4-lanes. The rain conveniently fell during the break for tea and cakes. Please come back in a day or three for many more photographs from yesterday’s event at the Club.
Just 3 Urgent Things
Firstly, today is Fun Day. If you haven’t already signed-up to participate then make sure you are at the green by 1:15pm today for a start of events at 1:30pm.
Secondly, and very importantly to show support for our maintenance team who beaver away at all-hours for our benefit, they could do with additional help to undertake a general tidy up around the green on Monday 2nd June from 10am to noon. We are aware that the U3A will be on the green then too. If you can provide at least an hour of your time, bring your weeding implements, bags and gloves, and show that we can also play our part in caring for the green and its surround.

Love Your Zoo Week
No, not your zoo at home, but the Welsh Mountain Zoo this week has a ‘Love Your Zoo Week: Allies for Wildlife’. The week runs up to, and including Sunday 1st June. Events include fun, discovery and conservation action as they shine a light on the vital role we all play in protecting our planet’s precious species.
