It’s Happening

Yesterday Vardre Bowling Club raised £2.50 just by two people using Easyfundraising. Easyfundraising, Tesco and Amazon were the donors. Imagine, if we could raise £2.50 per day over a year, the Club could receive over £900.00, just because you shop online!

Read yesterday’s post below to learn how you could help contribute to Club funds just by online shopping via the Easyfundraising website. It will cost you nothing and the company you buy from will make the donation. It will be even better if you download the Easyfundraising App before 30th November as, like Mark found yesterday, you will be able to immediately add £2.00 to the Club’s fundraising account.

Dave H is in the process of handing over the administration of this to me. So, let’s see if we can make this work with a renewed effort to involve more members in the scheme. The more the merrier. We currently have 12-members signed up. With over 80-members at the Club, there’s real scope to to bring in the pennies which will all count towards making the pounds. Thank you for your support.

Easy Peasy Money For Nothing

Do you remember that Dave H registered Vardre Bowling Club as a cause for financial support through Easyfundraising? It’s a way that you can ensure a financial gift to the club, at no cost to yourself, and it doesn’t take more time than you would usually take when making an online purchase. If you sign up before 30th November 2025, then £2 could be credited to your cause, i.e. Vardre Bowling Club (Click Here).

How is it possible for a donation to be made to your Cause at no cost to you? Well, Retailers (currently 8,100) pay Easyfundraising a Commission when a sale is made on their website by someone who has reached their website via Easyfundraising. Easyfundraising then passes a good percentage of that payment to the cause already identified by the purchaser, e.g. Vardre Bowling Club. Payments are made 4-times a year (if total amount exceeds £15).

What do you have to do? Simply sign-up on their website (Click Here) and identify the cause you want to support, e.g. Vardre Bowling Club. You can then install an Extension for your browser that will remind you to go to Easyfundraising first before you make your purchase online. There is also an App that can be downloaded from Apple or Google Play Stores.

Laws of the Game

Here are just three of the rules in the British Crown Green Bowls Association (BCGBA) Laws of the Game.

6. Running Jack or Bowl:
6.1. A bowl played while the jack or preceding bowl is in motion shall be forfeited.

6.2. If a running jack or bowl appears to be in danger of striking a still bowl or jack belonging to another end, such running jack or bowl should be stopped and returned to be replayed

6.3. If a running bowl is impeded in any way, except by either player, it must be played again. If a running bowl is impeded by either player, all the offender(s) bowls shall be forfeited at that end.

Clean Out Your Refrigerator Day 15th November (Today)

Yes, it’s that great day of the year when you could sort out what might be your favourite piece of kitchen equipment. Doing it now means it won’t be another job that might need doing just before Christmas. You know it makes sense.

Don’t Go There

There is now a temporary road closure in place on Alex Munro Way, directly in front of the colonnade by the Grand Hotel in Llandudno. The closure will last for up to 5-weeks whilst repairs are undertaken.

Llandudno Fireworks Display Tonight 7th November 2025

Llandudno Town Council’s annual Fireworks Display will lift off at 6:30pm tonight. It is dependent on the weather. If the weather is very wet then it will be held tomorrow night instead. However, whilst erring on the positive and that the display will go ahead tonight, just head for prom.

The Victoria Centre Car Park will also be open Free of Charge and if you don’t want to be among the crowds on the prom, then you can watch it from the top of the car park instead.
