We’re Off
Mary Hughes, President of the Vardre Deganwy Club, had the honour of playing the first end as she formally re-opened the green yesterday. Plus a good number of members were present and later played their first games of the season. Congratulations to our volunteers for maintaining the green in such good condition.

Although the weather was initially a bit cold and wet, we were all very grateful to the Members who were so kind in supplying food and drink for everyone at the event. Eating, drinking and catching up kept everyone busy until the sun and blue sky appeared and the green could be heard calling to the players.

It’s Today!
The day that you have all been waiting for, since the end of the 2022 crown green bowling season, has finally arrived. The Vardre Deganwy green will be opened today at 1:00pm by Mary Hughes, President of the Club.
A Polished Performance
Hey Ho, Hey Ho, It’s Off to Work We Go
No, not a re-run of Snow White with her friends the Seven Dwarfs heading out to work in the mines for the day, but it was the Vardre Deganwy Club’s seasonal equivalent.
The Maintenance Team is grateful to all the members who swelled the team’s ranks for an occasional event yesterday – to tidy the green, the surrounds and the clubhouse – in preparation for the Green opening on Saturday. In cold, damp conditions everyone just beavered away with the tasks, and the scheduled work was completed before midday. Over 20 volunteers – they will know who they are. Remember, more help during the season would always be very welcome.
Today and Beyond
Remember that today, from 10:00am to midday, Members are asked to attend if possible to help out in preparing the Club for the start of the season.
