North Wales Coast
Worker Bees
Just prior to the green opening, some of our members volunteered to help spruce up the club. The new kitchen installation created the need to get the clubhouse well prepared for the new season, and some tidying up outside was also vital whilst Ian and David L were on greenkeeping duty. Many thanks from everyone at the club for their hard work.

Yesterday
Congratulations to our Clwydian League ‘C’ Team as they won their first match of the season and their 3 best players on the day are now numbers 1, 2 & 3 in the individual player aggregates list for their Division. Keep it going.
Meanwhile, our North Wales Coast League team members joined together to play a friendly at home against Dwygyfylchi last night. With about 15-members a side, some doubles matches were also played to ensure that everyone got a game despite the cold and the rain. Crown green bowlers are a hardy lot and it was an enjoyable evening all round.
1st Match 2024
Our Clwydian League ‘C’ Team plays the Club’s first match of the season today whilst the ‘A’ and ‘B’ Teams play their first matches in two-weeks time. Good luck to the ‘C’ Team that is AWAY to Rhos-on-Sea at 2:15pm.
Whether or Not?
Happy Easter
On Good Friday, Christians commemorate Jesus’ execution, when he died on a wooden cross. It’s a day of mourning in the Church, and services are held to reflect on his pain and suffering.
After Jesus died, his body was taken to be buried in a tomb. It was heavily guarded by Roman soldiers, and a huge boulder was placed in front of it.
Alaska
30th March 1867 saw the signing of the land treaty for Alaska, with the purchase from Russia by the United States of America for a sum of $7.2 million. Less than 2-cents per acre. Russia was keen to sell the territory but there were many critics in the U.S., claiming it was a waste of money. Once gold was discovered there in 1899, views changed. Alaska became the 49th state on January 3, 1959.
It’s Astronomical
There are rules around Christian Moveable Feasts and Holy Days. Easter Day (on which all the rest depend) is always the first Sunday after the full Moon that occurs on or after the spring equinox (21st March). If the full Moon falls on a Sunday then Easter is on the following Sunday.
