Ladies County & Inter League Vets
No, not a place to take your sick pet but a bit of information from Ian Wilson about the Ladies County Vets Competition held recently that involved both Miriam Forder and Ann Banks, plus a bit about the upcoming Inter League Vets Competition on 7th July. Just Click Here to find out more.
Upcoming Events
Charity Day 6th July: Make sure to put this date in your diary as the day will involve fundraising for the Wales Air Ambulance. As you will all know, the ambulance landed on our green a couple of months ago to attend to a visiting bowler who had collapsed.
Gardening Group: Well done all for yesterday’s tidy-up around the green. The next meet up is at 4:00pm on Monday 14th July for an hour or so.
Gardening Group
A reminder to all Members, if you can help with a bit of gardening at the club today, then please arrive by 1pm, and stay to help for as short or as long a time as possible. Bring any gardening instruments and bags with you that will be useful for weeding.
Don’t worry if you can’t help today as the group aims to meet up at 4pm every fortnight for an hour or so with the next date Monday 14th July. So, whatever time you can give to helping will be very much appreciated. See you there. Thank you. ✂
Double Delight
Last Wednesday was mid-season for the Ladies Clwydian League so the league held a doubles competition involving each club from both the ‘A’ & ‘B’ divisions. Shan and Diane represented the Vardre Deganwy Ladies Team in the ‘A’ Division Doubles Competition. Many thanks to club members who sent their good wishes before the event, and to those that supported the players on the day: Carol B (Ladies Team Captain; John B; Rhona; Elaine; Tom; Ann; and, Eddie. Unfortunately, Tom and Eddie missed out on the photos but here are just a few from the event:-

And the next doubles competition? It’s today at Dyserth 11am. 🎪
The New Gardening Group Is Go For Lift Off – Members Needed
Forks, Trowels, Loppers, Weeding instruments, etc. are all welcome especially when they are accompanied by our Members who own and use them. Every Monday from now on, starting on 30th June @ 1pm, the new Gardening Group will be in action. The more the merrier. So, whether you have half-an-hour to spare or an hour or two – weekly, fortnightly or monthly – please come along and take part, and be a key element of the inauguration of our new Gardening Group. Of course, a cup of tea is an added incentive, maybe even a biscuit or two, not to mention entertaining company! John & Carol Barrington will be there to welcome us all.
Hosts Needed
Volunteers to host an afternoon cup competition match are needed for 11th July 2025 from 12:45pm to approx. 5:00pm. All 4 of our Clwydian Teams are involved in competition matches elsewhere at that time so we really need to ask our Members who are not in any of those teams to volunteer. Ian will put a list up on the board in the Clubhouse where you can add your name. If there are enough volunteers then you might only need to commit to a 2-hour session.
It involves opening the green and Clubhouse, collecting the fee from the two visiting clubs, selling refreshments and possibly 2-people needed for measuring duties during the match. Thank you.

Cloth Ears?
No room to brush this information under the carpet because your Club needs you to add your name to the weekly cleaning rota of the Clubhouse. Please look at the list on the Clubhouse wall and add your name. If you and a friend/relative can do just an hour or so on a day in the week during the season, then that is all that is required. It also means that others are not in the position where they feel they have to do more sessions than others to fill the gaps. Thank you for your commitment to keeping our Club looking tip-top.
Form Filling Time
Sue Kirkham, our Club Secretary, sent out a news email on 20th June, packed full of interesting items and some requests. An enclosure with the email was the Club’s new membership form. This form, when completed, will ensure that the Club Secretary has up to date information. So, the Club would be very grateful if all members, new and existing, would complete the form. Print it at home, if you are able to do so, complete it and pop it into the letterbox in the clubhouse as soon as possible. Click Here to access the form so that you can print it.
