Our Very Own Sir Veigh

Well, so many interesting thoughts from Club Members in the recent survey. What a great way of keeping our Committee Members tied up in knots for some time to come. Well played everyone.

Blackbird: “Did you respond to the survey?” Dunnock: “You bet. How else are we going to persuade them to keep our hedgerows for nesting each year? I thought bird feeders would be a good idea too!”

“It’s Your Neighbourhood” 2022

Congratulations to Tommy and Co.

“Many thanks to Dave and Tommy for a warm welcome and a comprehensive tour. On entering the club curtilage, one gets the feeling of a well maintained and cared for facility. The green is immaculate, the colourful baskets are good and plentiful, and the building and infrastructure well maintained. The efforts at sustainability are very reassuring showing the club embraces environmental responsibility. There seems to be excellent community participation. I particularly liked the association with U3A and your plans to restart school participation.”

Cup Finals

The Finals of the two Vardre Deganwy Cup Competitions were held yesterday. Members of the club had battled with each other throughout the summer to reach the finals. Many club members turned up to spectate and help to organise, mark and shout encouragement. Sean played against Gwyneth, and Ian played against Diane. Congratulations to the Winners Ian and Sean and consolation to the Runners-Up. No weapons other than bowling skills were used during the matches.

Another tip for bowlers: If you don’t want to get caught out on the green, make sure you remember your belt for your shorts or trousers. Here John P demonstrates the point.

Looking Good

Jack and Alan plus a bowl looking on

Alan tries to out-stare a jack but it’s not giving in. As far as it is known, they are both still on the green trying to out-do each other!

Remember to check the Weekly Board for club events updates.

Flying, Climbing, Dancing

If you were unable to attend yesterday’s performance by Vertical Dance Kate Lawrence, here are just a few images of what you missed of this North Wales initiative. Very inventive and entertaining. Watch out for them at other venues. Find out more on their website (Click Here).

Tip Toe Through the Tulips

Not quite, but here’s a little tip if that bowl is slipping in your hand:

Steve B demonstrates his use of a glove to help with his grip on the bowl. This can work equally well on a dry day or a wet day.
