Busy as a Bee

Here’s a White-Tailed Bumblebee in the garden having just emerged from the nest under the paving slab. It is one of a few worker bees to-ing and fro-ing to the nest, having just delivered its latest load of pollen, taking care of the young and the nest.

Our Clwydian ‘C’ Team played at Ruthin on Tuesday, on a very dry looking bowling green. From the following photo taken on the day, it looks like one member of our team is about to experience a sharp bite on the bum. Is this a case of nobbling the opposition?
