Former President Roger Dickinson

Message to Members from Elaine Beech the Club Secretary:

Hazel, the daughter of Roger Dickinson who recently passed away, has notified us that a Memorial/Thanksgiving Service for Roger has been arranged at St. John’s Methodist Church in Conwy, on Sunday 21^st June at 2:30pm. Refreshments will be available in the Church Hall afterwards. The family has extended an invitation to Vardre BC members to join them at the service and for refreshments.

To help with catering, Hazel has asked that I let her know how many will stay for refreshments – so, if you are attending, please let me know by this Wednesday 17^th if you will be joining them for refreshments. Reply via the Vardre WhatsApp Group or text me on 07979 802465 (giving your name).

Both Roger and his wife Margaret were past Presidents at our Club and, amongst many things they did for the club, they set up the annual Alpha Trophy Competition for members who had never won a competition before, and they donated the trophy that is still in use today.

May I suggest that members attending wear the Club kit which both Margaret and Hazel would appreciate. Elaine Beech
