The re-arranged Clwydian League ‘A’ Team’s match originally arranged for Tuesday 9th June will now be held on Monday 8th June at Vardre, starting as usual at 2:15pm. This also means that, together with the fact that the ‘D’ Team has a Bye on that morning, the green will be available for club members social play at any time on Tuesday 9th June.
Mark Ball had a good win playing for Wales versus Yorkshire in the Wales Home leg held at Benllech on Sunday 8th June. Well done Mark. The ‘Home’ Wales team just lost the aggregate by 19-points and the ‘Away’ Wales team (playing in Yorkshire at the same time) lost the agg by 70-points. “Yorkshire is an extremely strong side”, Mark.
A message from Ian: 16 members each paid £2 on Sunday 8th June to enter the fun event ‘Odd Couple Doubles’. After initial problems with a change in format, and a “faulty” football card, all players had over 90-minutes bowling in 3-rounds of 8-ends each. They also undertook their own marking and measuring and, with their kind generosity, a total of £106 was donated to the Irrigation Fund because all winners pledged their amount back to the Club. Thanks to all and especially to Sylvia for yet another of her delicious cakes. (Photos of the event will appear on the website later this week).
