Cry Me a River
A superbly run AGM took place yesterday with Marina Roberts, the Club’s Chairman, presiding over the event, supported by Dave Holland, Club Secretary, and David Leech, the Treasurer. It began with a speech from Mary Hughes, the outgoing President. Call back in a day or two for some photos from the event but, in the meantime, here’s another one of them ……..
2022/2023 AGM Today
Did you know that Annual General Meetings were first introduced to UK society in the first Companies Act 1862, for the benefit of a company’s shareholders. Although our Club is a non-incorporated sports association, this is also the most effective way of keeping Club Members involved in the running of the Club. The day-to-day running of the Club is undertaken by a few individuals voted in by registered Club Members at the AGM. So cast your Member’s vote with aplomb today (photo ID not required) at Craig-y-Don Community Centre at 2:00pm.

Numbers
Did you know that there are 18-Counties affiliated to the British Crown Green Bowling Association (BCGBA) with 2,153 clubs across Great Britain? One of those county regions is Wales, known as the Welsh Crown Green Bowling Association (WCGBA), representing 99-affiliated clubs that are spread across the top half of Wales. Those 99-clubs are able to play in the 15-leagues within the region. Just Click Here if you want to see a map of all those clubs in Wales.
Today is the Day
Today marks just 36-days left until the end of 2023. How will you fill the time? Well, if you’re a Club Member – take the opportunity to attend the Club’s Annual General Meeting (AGM). It will be held on Tuesday 28th November at 2:00pm.
Today is also the United Nations’ International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. The day starts 16-days of activism under the Secretary General’s UNITE campaign that is managed by UN Women. Click on the link if you’d like to learn more about the campaign.
