Vardre Winter Team (Half Time)
It is now halfway through the Betws yn Rhos Winter Season of bowling. The Vardre team was promoted into the ‘A’ Division this year and have had a challenging time. As the team is 13-points above the lowest two teams in the Division (also promoted with our team), the team is hopeful to stay up at the end of the season (11th March 2026). Matches recommence for this winter competition on Tuesday 13th January. Ann Banks is the top player in the team for Christmas and New Year. Well done everyone and good luck in the 2nd half of the season when we’ll take a Team photo (on a nice, mild, sunny day, of course!).
Be Alert
The unfortunate thing about the internet is the ways in which people are now committing fraud and attempting to compromise everyone’s computers and mobile phones. Here is the HSBC’s guide to protect yourself:

Our Green This Week
Volunteers are Vital
The next volunteer crew morning to help with all the little bits and pieces around the club will be on Monday 5th January 2026 from 10am to 12 noon. All volunteers will be welcomed with open arms.
In the meantime, our stalwart trio (Ian, John B and David L) is beavering away. Thanks to them and Bobby, and a few other volunteers, the green looks so beautifully green and lush already. What a quick revival after such a long, hot, dry summer. John B is also painting the clubhouse with just the rear of the building left to do. With clever purchasing of materials by members when prices were discounted, it makes it more affordable to keep on top of the maintenance tasks.

Volunteer at the Green Today or, if wet, arrive anyway at 10am for a chat with others about volunteering on Mondays
Please come and volunteer at the green today as part of a Volunteer Maintenance Crew, from 10:00am to 12 noon (or for as long as you can commit to). So, to have a break from thinking about Christmas, please come along to the green to help out in any way you can. As Marina the Chairman said at the AGM, tea and coffee will also need to be prepared for everyone so, in whatever way you can help, you’ll be very welcome.
