Spring or Winter?

In very wet and wintry conditions yesterday, our ‘B’ and ‘C’ Teams achieved exceptional wins. Well done everyone. Although it is still early in the season, our ‘B’ Team is currently top of their division with a few points in hand. Keep it going everyone.

There’s Money in Muck

These are the 3 new bins in the clubhouse so that we can organise our rubbish and do our little bit towards taking care of our planet (Earth). The Committee would be very grateful if you could take the contents home with you. Although there is usually money in muck, you might not experience it with us! Thank you from the Club and the planet.

Flora Moves In, Then Up & Down

Flora is very keen to show off her skills which she maintains will help all members (no matter what their level of house cleaning skills) keep the Clubhouse clean on a regular basis.  However, she can only do this if members sign up to the cleaning rota on the noticeboard.  Flora is looking forward to working with each member on no more than 2 occasions throughout the season. She’d like to make it clear that she isn’t a traditional mop but is a much simpler, easier and cleaner way to put a shine on the clubhouse floor.

Flora and all her tools are located in a plastic storage box in the ladies loo and the basic instructions of how to operate her are there also.  However, anyone who’d welcome a 10-minute user lesson only has to contact Elaine on 07979 802465 and that can be easily arranged.

New Clwyd Team Wins 1st Match

The new Vardre Deganwy team, that is playing its first season in the Clwyd Bowling League, achieved a 7:5 victory against their very first opponents, and it was on their opponents green. Well done everyone, a great team effort, and a great start for Captain Nigel.

1st Comp & Last Night

Last Sunday’s Opening Foursomes Competition will be completed when the final round is played later in the year. In the meantime, Click Here for a few photos from last Sunday’s event.

Opening Foursomes Briefing

Congratulations to the ‘B’ Team’s win last night against Sunny Rhyl by winning 5-games plus the 2-points for the Agg by winning just 1-point more than their opponents.

3 Great Starts

Please note that the Thursday Friendly match this week has been cancelled. Make sure you sign up for the next one with further details to be provided in due course.

Yesterday was the opening day of the Clwydian League season with superb results for all 3 of our teams. The ‘B’ Team won Away with a score of 8:4. The ‘C’ Team won at Home with a score of 7:5. A marvellous start for both teams.

Then the ‘A’ Team achieved something that no team in the ‘A’ Division achieved in 2022, a very well-earned draw 6:6 against Rhos Park ‘A’ – the team that not only topped the ‘A’ Division in 2022 but which also won every match that season. 6-wins for our team yet just missed out on the aggregate 163:165.

We’re Off

The first league matches of the bowling season take place today with all three of the Vardre Deganwy Clwydian League teams involved. Good luck to everyone as you take on your opponents and enjoy yourselves. Here’s to a great season.

Our top model Sylvia demonstrates our team logo alongside our sponsor’s logo – MKM

Opening Foursomes 2023

It was cold but, happily, dry weather for the first competition of the season. There was a very good turnout of both players and spectators with some members also very kindly providing sandwiches and cakes. Thanks to them and to the markers and measurers too. Although the semi-finals were completed, the Final will be held at a later date to be confirmed.

From ‘Dancing on the Ceiling’ to ‘Shan Shan Style’ (is that the correct song title?) – Anyway, here are two of the competing teams braving the cold: Clare, Shan, Bunty, Rosina

There will be just a few more photos from the event on the website within the next few days so keep checking back.
