Ian keeps us all on our toes with a regular update of upcoming club events:-
- FRIDAY 2 JANUARY 2026: 10am Captains’ Meeting – Our 2nd meeting since the Club’s AGM. It appears initially that we shall not have sufficient numbers to warrant fielding a ‘C’ team in the llandudno & Colwyn League in 2026. Decisions must be made so that notification to the League is made before they hold their AGM in February. There may be the possibility of forming a Ladies ‘B’ team as some form of consolation.
- MONDAY 5 JANUARY 2026: 9-30am Maintenance Meeting – A further attempt to attract volunteer members to become involved in assisting with the maintenance tasks. Extra work has already been completed on and around the green, but there is still a lot to do before our intended opening in late March. Weather does not look too promising, but clubhouse will be warmer and hot drinks available.
- VARIOUS AGMs 2026: The Vale of Clwyd Thursday Evening League has already had their AGM. We have just the one team in this League, but will be in Division ‘B’ in 2026 following 2 promotions. Gwynedd County Association meet at Bethesda on January 10th; Clwyd Senior Citizens League at St Asaph on January 30th; North Wales Saturday Coast League the following day, I suspect. Then into February: the Ladies League AGM is set for February 9th; the Llandudno & Colwyn League meeting on February 18th; with the WCGBA centenary AGM at Prestatyn on February 21st.
- My new 2026 diary is already filling up (thankfully attendance at the AGMs is shared amongst our captains and Secretary) but it only proves that the start of the 2026 bowling season is not too far away. After this evening’s celebrations it will be more or less 80 days. Ian
