Message from the Club to our Members: “Despite a plea on the club notice-boards, our TUESDAY and WEDNESDAY A and B teams are short of just 1 or 2 players to make up a manageable squad of players for respective captains to select from for the coming season. We have had a couple of volunteers offering assistance, but could still do with perhaps 4 or 5 more to relieve captains of added stress of having to field a full team. If you can only help out occasionally, it would alleviate the problem. In the case of our Wednesday B team, 3 of our 14 League games and our Cup matches will be on a Monday evening.
I appreciate the commitment members have already made. I must add that this is the first season in some time that certain squads have depleted numbers, but to avoid “borrowing” players from other teams (which causes more disruption – and the Wednesday teams don’t have that alternative anyhow) a few more registered players would be the ideal solution.
