Palet (Bowls in Sheep’s Clothing?)

The French have a game called Palet. Ann and Rog introduced a few members of the club to this game where a master (jack) – a small cast iron disk – is thrown from a 5-metre distance onto a square, wooden board. Once it lands safely on the board, the two teams of two players then each have two larger cast iron disks (palet) to throw onto the board. The team landing their disk/s (palet) nearest to the master (jack) wins. Like bowls, it has co-ordination techniques that take time to hone.
