Played 4 lost 4…….yes sadly i have to report another defeat, this time 8 – 4 at home to Kinmel Bay.
Although we had a few defeats to single figures, there were some excellent performances during the match. John Davies again should improvement and was in contention at 11 – 13 down, unfortunately having lost the jack, John failed to add to his score. Lynn Brierley and Margaret Dickinson also reached double figures against strong opponents.
Henry Taylor, Norman Brown and Marc Morris all recorded well deserved victories, however the performance of the day belonged to Ken Owen who, at one stage was “all-but – 8, recorded his first victory on a Saturday 21 – 12. Well done Ken – well bowled!
Unfortunately this might be my last game on a Saturday for sometime and I thank all my players for their help and support during the past two years. I do hope to return at some point in the future, but in the meantime I leave the team in the very capable hands of my Vice-Captain, Marina Roberts, and wish Marina a trouble-free and successful time at the helm of what is a very good ship and of which I have been proud to be captain!
