Small Talk from Newsletter 12

You will notice that there is a roll of ‘Clingfilm’ on top of the First Aid Box. This is for use in the unfortunate event that someone is burned. Not to be used to take home food after the Fun Days 😄

Please note that in the last Newsletter the date of the Scramble Competition and Dinner was given as 10th May. This was correct at the time but in order to secure the Conwy Golf Club the date is now the 31st May

The new Ladies Team’s first game is on Monday, 9th April. The first 8 names on the list on the notice board will play.

The Table Top Sale ran for club funds raised £56. Marina and Kate still have some unsold goods and intend to go to another sale. If you have anything else to give, have word with them. Thanks to everyone.

The ‘Opening Fours’ doubles competition will be held on Sunday 8th April starting at 1.30pm. It’s our first competition of the season so give it a try. The first ‘Fun Day’ will be Sunday, 29th April. We need a couple of members  to run this event please.

The Whist Club has now finished and a big thanks to those who organised it. This raises a substantial amount of money for the club and keeps members involved during the closed season.

The U3A bowling group will again be run by Bill and will start on Monday, 9th April at 10.00am and word is that 11 new bowlers will be trying out our game.

The Committee discussed ‘Disability Inclusion’ at its last meeting. We agreed and want to be clear that our club is open to everyone. It is our intention to try to ensure that any person who wants to bowl but feels that their disability would be a problem, can come along and we will help in any way we can so that they can play and enjoy the game.

The safety of members and visitors is very important and we ask that if you experience anything unsafe or dangerous at the club premises or around the green, that you report it immediately to a committee member for remedial investigation and action.

The next Committee Meeting will be 27th April.

Barry Halstead has decided not to join our club this season but will play for Llysfaen, which is very close to where he lives. We pass on our best wishes to Barry but hope that we are able to give him and his team a good hiding when we meet.

25 new burgundy polo shirts will be available soon. We would like all league team players to wear them at matches. Ian is also arranging for samples of  sweatshirts and sweaters. These will be available to look at soon.
