Events for Late September
Margaret Dickinson represented Vardre B today at Coast league Merits and did us very proud indeed!😀
She had to play 3 games – unlucky to be playing in the preliminary round , then went ahead to play another two games with such determination and against excellent players.
She won the second game 21:20 . Yes, she got to the final 8 and lost 17:21 .
All of her games were long ones. I don’t know how she got the strength to compete !
Well done Margaret 👍 We are all very proud of you !
Thanks to all 12 Vardre members who came to support her – yes, we made ourselves heard🤣
also from Roger –
Vardre “B” top of averages, Margaret played wonderfully, to beat Carol Poynton (Eirias Park A), and then Gareth Williams(Llandudno Oval A), before losing narrowly to James Todd(Conwy A), much to the delight of her B team supporters!
So sorry I wasn’t there to see such a good performance , appointment for CT scan at YG… well done Margaret .. Gwyn
note not sure who represented the Vardre A team please forward a report and photos if you have any .

Charity Funday 29th July-
The organisers of the event have decided to cancel due to the very adverse weather forecast for this
weekend especially on Sunday. It was decided to cancel early to prevent any members who will be baking
or making sandwiches etc, wasting there time and money.
We apologise for this but we are sure you will understand.
The new date will now be Sunday 02 Sept .
Firstly my apologies for the email I sent out yesterday as it had incorrect information in it!
Craig y Don have changed the rules this year, regarding the closing date which in previous years was
always on the Wednesday before the Friday’s competition. This year it was yesterday, a week before.
My apologies again, especially to Liz who unfortunately missed out, but as she said she will be there next year.
Craig y Don would like all entrants to arrive by 9.45am, to book in before the matches start.
Good luck ladies and enjoy your games.

the 3rd August. The registration form is on the noticeboard and the closing date is the 1st Aug.

Saturday 10th March ,
Marina and Kate are having a stall on behalf of our club. If you have anything you don’t want that they can sell, get in touch with them or alternatively bring it to the clubhouse. A big thanks to Marina and Kate and please help them to raise some funds for the club
How can you forget that the green will open on Saturday, 24th March at 2pm. However, what we have agreed to do this year is not have an ‘Opening Lunch’ but have a ‘bit of a do’ in the clubhouse after the opening of the green. So, why not come along, bring a little bit of food with you, you know, some butties or a cake and we can enjoy and celebrate the new season on home turf, literally. There will still be a ‘Scramble Dinner’ on Thursday evening, 10th May and I am looking to booking the Golf Club again. Details soon.
Whist will start on Wednesday 18th October…..at 2pm (see poster below )
