16 March 2021

Hi everyone,

You will be pleased to hear that we intend to open the green on Good Friday, 2nd April 2021 at 11 am when Bob, our current President, will officially open the season. As you will appreciate we still have to be Covid careful and strict rules will be in force to protect everyone. We will be allowing 8 members, maximum, to play socially at any one time and a team should include no more that 2 households. Signing in and out is required and spectators, observing social distancing, is permitted. At this stage the clubhouse / toilets will not be open but this could change as the season progresses. Advisory notices giving additional information on safety will be posted on the clubhouse. Playing and spectating is again restricted to Members Only.

The boring details of fees needs to be addressed and we need to know your intentions for this year. Normal fees for the year as you know are £47. Last season some members paid the full amount and some, because of the restricted season, paid £20. The committee have agreed that those who paid £20 last year should pay £47 this year and those who paid £47, pay £20. Dave Leech will be at the green for a couple of hours on Good Friday and Saturday if you want to pay him either by cash or cheque. Any member who wants to post their fees to Dave should send it to his address at, ‘Rhosina’ Glyn y Marl Road, Llandudno Junction, LL31 9NS
If you cannot remember how much you paid last season please contact Dave by email or text and he will let you know.

There is a hope that league bowling may eventually start in some form and so would you please let me know by email if you want to be involved in a team. The details of how it will work have yet to be decided but we do know that the standings at the end of the season will not count and no club will go up or down. Therefore please let me know if you would want to play in the Tuesday, Wednesday or Saturday leagues or any combination of them as we have to try to assess how many teams we would be putting forward. If you do not respond by 20th April I will assume you do not want to play in any league bowling team.

Like last year, bowling this year is going to be a bit hit and miss but we hope that whatever form it takes, you enjoy it. The green and surroundings are in excellent condition thanks to our committed maintenance team so we hope that you will have a great year. We ask, however, that if you develop any COVID symptoms you will stay away, making our bowling environment safe for everyone.

Hope to see you all soon.

Regards Dave
